I’m always in awe of the achievements of things like this. Humanity can do some pretty awesome stuff when we work together...if only everybody would clue in on that one! :(

Well, part of it this time is that rather than having to depend on a sig
nal from MRO like last time (if memory serves) with Curiosity, they had sent two small cubesats to act as relays right over the landing site, so if one cubesat lost connection, the other would still have it, and both could relay back directly, or relay data back through MRO or one of the other orbiters. First use of the tiny c
ubesats for such an important task!

It was one hell of a flawless landing! The fact the parachute was deploying at supersonic speeds is pretty mindblowing!

Sorry you missed it guy! I wasn’t sure I would be home in time to catch it, but I managed to! Pretty cool stuff! You can still feel the energy in the room even if you rewatch it afterward!

Yup! Came back really quickly too, surprised how fast they got them back - MarCO
A and MarCO B did their jobs phenomenally
for little satellites that were only 30x20x10cm large! I mean, your average normal wooden ruler is only 30cm in long to put that in perspective...insane!!!
